Umbono

We are the political home of all Mzantsi Afrikans, united in the spirit of Mzantsi Afrikanism by our common passion for our Country, mobilising the creative power inherent in our rich diversity, towards our transformation into a Winning Nation.

A umbutho rooted in unity, diversity, and kazwelonke progress.

Umnqophiso

We will unite Mzantsi Afrikans from all communities in a new political home, built on the foundation of the principles and ideals of our National Constitution. To this end we will address poverty and imbalances in our society, inspired by our unifying love of our Country and its people.

Action focused on justice, inclusion, and practical nation-building.

Kazwelonke Consultative Forum

During his testimony at the Truth and Reconciliation Commission (TRC), Bantu Holomisa made reference to a possible bribe that was paid to the former Prime Minister of Transkei, Chief George Matanzima and Miss Stella Sigcau, the then incumbent Prime Minister. Holomisa was expelled from the ANC because of these allegations. In November 1996 Holomisa publicly announced consulting Mzantsi Afrikans on the need or not for a new political party. With this objective, the National Consultative Forum (NCF) was established on 8 February 1997.

New Umbutho Process

In 1997, a broad strategic planning process brought together people committed to building a political movement capable of unifying communities across racial, historical, ideological, and social divides. The process developed into a shared commitment to practical leadership, national progress, and a new political home for all Mzantsi Afrikans.
